A few years ago, Eater made a list of the South Florida’s 13 Best Steaks In the Most Unlikely Places. There are a lot of excellent steakhouses in Florida and the Southern United States, and here are ten of them.
Diplomat Prime in Hollywood Beach, Florida, is best known for its forty-eight-ounce prime porterhouse…and it is something to behold (and a lot to eat!).
LT Steak & Seafood in Miami Beach, Florida, serves excellent steak and seafood; we go for either the 10-ounce filet mignon or the thirty-six-ounce Porterhouse (and sometimes both)
Brave New Restaurant in Little Rock, Arkansas, made a big name for itself with New York strip steaks, but there’s also a tasty mushroom Wellington for vegetarians.
Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse in New Orleans knocks out guests with fabulous servings of meat, like grilled chops and oven-roasted prime rib.
Oak Steakhouse, in Charlotte, Louisiana, has a strong local reputation for classic steaks like the twenty-two-ounce dry-aged bone-in rib-eye.
Peppertree Steaks n' Wine in Montgomery, Alabama, is known for beef, carefully hand-cut on premises, and pristine seafood, just pulled from the sea.
Charles Anthony’s Restaurant at the Pub, also in Montgomery, is renowned for their eight-ounce filet mignon and fourteen-ounce signature cut ribeye.
Grill 225 is in Charleston, South Carolina, one of the South’s food capitols, and you’re going to want their filet mignons, hand-selected and wet-aged for forty-two days or more.
Halls Chophouse in Greenville, South Carolina, has outstanding chops (of course!), but you may also want to check out their Allen Brothers, U.S.D.A. meat, dry- and -wet aged for a minimum of twenty-eight days.
Kevin Rathbun Steakhouse, the pride of Atlanta, serves up a fantastic sixteen-ounce New York strip and a twenty-two-ounce dry-aged cowboy steak.
