Grill 225 - Charleston
One of Charleston's top steakhouses is the only restaurant in the area to offer 100 percent U.S.D.A. prime steaks. All of the beef selections, which includes the filet mignon, are hand-selected and wet-aged 42 days to 50 days. That's a unique find in these parts.
The restaurant is one of the highlights at the luxurious Market Pavilion Hotel, which is located in the heart of the historic Charleston district. The menu is comprised of classic and contemporary steakhouse dishes, starting with the appetizers. Highlights here range from a fried lobster tail served with Dijon tarragon aioli and a shrimp brulee of baked jumbo shrimp with garlic butter, Italian bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese.
A few specialty entrees should also catch the eye of discerning diners. The U.S.D.A. prime filet fois gras, prosciutto-and-provolone stuffed veal rib chop and the vegan tofu cassoulet are some of the best bets.
