Charles Anthony's Restaurant At The Pub Montgomery steakhouse

The staff was wonderful. We had a party of eight and attempted to get in around 8:00 pm, but they were already full and expected the wait time to be approximately an hour. We decided not to wait and left. While we were standing in front of the restaurant contemplating another place to go, the hostess come out to let us know a table had just become available. Since we were the last table seated, we were also the last diners in the restaurant prior to closing. This did not change the professionalism of the staff. For we never rush to leave so they could close, and every one of them thanked us for dining with them. As for the food, it was delicious. The fish, both the trout and the snapper, were cooked to perfection. The steaks too were spot-on with the desired level of cooking, warm pink center. If you are traveling through Montgomery, consider this local favorite. It will be on our list next time we come this way again.

The food is always great along with the atmosphere. The prices have gotten a little out of hand! The waiter said the salad that was the special was big enough for a dinner. I am 6’ and 225 pounds. The salad was a side salad with crab meet on top. It didn’t look that appetizing to begin with, but when I received the ticket and got a bill for $28. I was not happy at all. Ask for the pricing.

Started off with fried crab claws.. I had the grilled Red Snapper, Salad with Greek dressing and a loaded baked potato. The Service and the food were outstanding.

Our first time here was wonderful. The server was very nice, kind and informative. We ordered a steak which was cooked perfectly, soft in the middle but seared with a crunch top & bottom. The grilled shrimp was okay with the side of butter. The salad was portioned small but everything was very filling with our appetizer. The crab claws were very meaty and fried perfectly. Fries & rolls were very good. Asparagus was plain but good. Definitely recommend this place although a little pricey, it’s very nice for a formal dinner.

Ambience was nice and service was friendly. Ordered a steak and crispy potatoes with a glass of wine. The side salad was fine, potatoes were great. Steak was very subpar. Was listed as a prime 12oz and there is absolutely zero chance it was prime. Was over cooked and poorly cut. Very dry and lean, almost like a strip, with no discernible rib cap. Seasoning was underwhelming. Had decent grill marks but just an overall bad steak. Ate less than half of it. Wine was decent but wine list was very small. Prices were affordable but overall reinforced that you get what you pay for. Likely won’t go back.

Popular food options. Good portions. Great taste. Fast and friendly service. I couldn't have asked for more.

Great experience. Don't be put off by the outside or location. It looks like the building is closed. It's so nice inside. Great service from AJ. The crab topped snapper is amazing. Can't wait to go back when I'm in Montgomery again

I have passed by this restaurant multiple times and it looks empty and closed. But my friends took me here around 5pm and the parking lot was half full. Once I walked in I was amazed at the old architecture and its beauty. Scott, our waiter showed us our table (6 people) and he was excellent throughout our meal. I had the steak and some had fish, very fresh fish as it's delivered it multiple varieties from the gulf daily. What a hidden gem on the outskirts of East Chase. Again Scott was excellent and knowledgeable of the menu and wine list! My friends and I will be going again. Thanks
