Austin/San Antonio Steakhouses Open New Year’s Eve

Nothing says “Celebrate!” like steak, and there are few better places to celebrate New Year’s Eve than a fantastic steakhouse. Whether you’re setting yourself up for a night of merrymaking, or just having a good meal before you go to bed on the last night of 2018, the Austin and San Antonio areas have some world-class beef emporia to satisfy your year-round craving for luscious meat.

Bohanan’s Prime Steak and Seafood. It feels right to eat at a classic place on New Year’s Eve, and Bohanan’s Prime Steak and Seafood is certainly a classic. The mesquite grill turns out marinated quail, rack of lamb and, of course, beef. There’s also a cigar menu; Bohanan’s is a great place to welcome in the new year in high style.

Kirby’s Prime Steakhouse. Another steakhouse with some history behind it, Kirby’s Charcoal Steakhouse opened in 1954 in Dallas and then it sprouted a new location in Austin, Kirby’s Prime Steakhouse. You can still get exceptional steaks here, including the beloved 10-ounce Roquefort filet and 22-ounce cowboy cut ribeye. There’s also a lot of seafood…and 4,000 bottles of wine ready to help you kick off the opening hours of 2019.

Lonesome Dove Western Bistro. If you love steak but are maybe in the mood for something a little different, try Lonesome Dove Western Bistro. There’s the superb collection of hand-cut and extraordinary steaks, like the Wagyu tomahawk, but there’s also kangaroo carpaccio, Rocky Mountain elk ribeye, and even rattlesnake, making your NYE dinner just what it should be: extraordinary.

III Forks. With national locations, III Forks has the buying-power and leverage to source the very best meat coupled with the time-tested experience to deliver a very good time, and that’s what New Year’s Eve is all about. Aged prime USDA meat is what this place guarantees, and you can get the eight-ounce filet mignon or the 32-ounce Tomahawk ribeye – or hey, why not both?! – and be assured you’re going to have some of the best bites of this year or next.

Bob’s Steak and Chop House. A laid-back steak house experience is exactly what you can count on at Bob’s Steak and Chop House. But don’t let the relaxed atmosphere fool you. The steaks are prime, and the seafood is superb, including Maryland style crab cakes and cold water South Australian lobster tails. Add a little bubbly to all that, and you have yourselves a New Year’s Eve celebration to remember.

The Palm. Okay, we all know The Palm, one of the country’s finest steak houses, so if, on New Year’s Eve, you want a sure thing, The Palm is it. Prime steaks are aged 35 days, and The Palm’s lobster is legendary. If you want to make sure you have a bust-out good time on New Year’s Eve, The Palm delivers for you and your guests with the best food available and the best service possible.

The Boiler House and Texas Grill & Wine Garden. No ordinary steakhouse, The Boiler House and Texas Grill & Wine Garden specializes in prime steaks, sure, but also wild game and some offal offerings you won’t find any where (and this is a special night, right?). Game includes bison tartare, smoked rabbit and venison chops, and if organ meat is your idea of a treat, there’s cracklin’ chicharron veal shortbreads. Add to that over two dozen Texas craft beers, as well as a generous selection of tequila and mezcal, and you’ve got yourself a night to remember.
