Best Chicago Steakhouses for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is May 12th (but you knew that, right?).

Brunch is the traditional Mother’s Day repast, but we know that mom can tuck into a delicious steak with as much energy and enthusiasm as any of us. So, this year, instead of going the easy and sure-to-please way of the buffet, you might check out the steaks at Chicago’s finest. You can opt for the buffet as well, but it’s nice to know that if you need it, there’s a steak out there waiting for you.

Many of Chicago’s best steakhouses are offering a buffet as well as their regular menu of USDA prime beef, and sometimes the steak is on the buffet as well.

Make sure you check the hours, because restaurants know to expect a rush on Mother’s Day, so they usually open a little earlier than usual. Of course, you want to make reservations.

Here are five of the best Chicago steakhouses, each offering something special for Mother’s Day and, of course, some of the best red meat you’ll find anywhere.

TREAT MOM TO A FEAST FIT FOR A QUEEN THIS MOTHER’S DAY AT PERRY'S STEAKHOUSE & GRILLE

This Mother’s Day, gather around the table at Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille (5 Oakbrook Center in Oak Brook, Illinois; 630-571-1808) to celebrate the most important lady in your life. On Sunday, May 12, Perry's will open early at 11 a.m., serving guests an all-day dinner menu, three cocktail specials, an off-the-menu feature and the restaurant’s traditional Sunday Supper Special.

Treat Mom To The Brunch She Deserves at STK CHICAGO

STK Steakhouse will also be featuring Mother's Day Dinner specials as well - so no matter what time of day, treat Mom to STK.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse. Throwing open the doors at 10 am on Mother’s Day, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse is showing their appreciation for all maternal units with a $30 three-course brunch menu featuring surf and turf eggs benedict and cinnamon apple French toast. There’s also a three-course children's menu. Naturally, Fleming’s signature steaks are available all day long. Here’s a thought: maybe you and mom could share the porterhouse for two, presented tableside ($99).

Ruth’s Chris SteakhouseRuth’s Chris Steakhouse is offering a Mother's Day Surf and Turf special for $49.95, with two buttery lobster tails along and a ribeye steak with a tantalizing sizzle that says “I love you mom, and sorry I was such a teenage monster.” There will be special hours for Mother’s Day, and some locations will offer a $25 gift card promotion for future reservations.

Eddie V’s Prime Seafood. Steakhouses might just as well be called seafood houses, because places like Eddie V’s Prime Seafood excel in offerings from both land and sea. On Mother’s Day, Eddie V’s lays out a $49 per person prix-fixe brunch menu. On the big table will be signature dishes like shrimp and grits, the king crab omelet, or their chicken and jalapeño biscuit. Or you and mom could have a couple of luscious steaks. Suggestion: let her choose.

Truluck’s Seafood Steak and Crab HouseOpen early on May 12th to accommodate family diners and dining preferences, Truluck’s Seafood Steak and Crab House will also be offering mom the gift of a complimentary Gerbera daisy plant (they’re pretty cute; she’ll dig it). Limited-time brunch options include lobster avocado toast, crab cake Benedict, crab and shrimp frittata and Mediterranean seafood salad. There will also be a complete dinner menu if you and mom are in the mood for steak – and to get her in the mood for red meat, there’s a mom-inspired specialty cocktail, The Matriarch.

III Forks. There’s a Mother’s Day brunch at III Forks, sure, but you may want to opt for the Mother’s Day Prix Fixe Menu, which includes filet mignon Benedict and lobster Benedict ($45). There’s also a children’s brunch prix fixe menu of sausage, scrambled eggs and a beverage ($18) and, of course, the spectacular line-up of steaks, including USDA prime bone-in ribeye and NY strip.
