A West Side favorite since 1996, Uncle Jack's now has three locations, also in Midtown and Bayside, New York. The restaurant has gained a reputation for serving some of the best steaks in New York, featuring USDA prime beef, cut to the chain's exact specifications and aged between 28 to 35 days. In addition to steakhouse classics, such as a boneless New York strip, Maryland-style crab cakes and garlic mashed potatoes, the West Side location also offers a full sushi menu.

Uncle Jack's used to be much better. The service was slow. Not the take your time while you eat slow, but we asked 3 times for an appetizer we never got, had to ask for drinks twice. When we finished we opted to not even get desert because no one would even acknowledge us for over 30 minutes after we finished eating. The food was just okay, but used to be much better. I would check out other steakhouses first. They had 2 servers, 3 food runners, and a manager attending 9 tables so I don't believe it was a staffing issue. I don't know if it was just a really bad night for them, or if it turned into a tourist trap.
