Cole's Chop House - Napa
Diners are certain to find so much to love about the downtown Napa-based Cole's Chop House, beginning with its decor. A reclaimed Honduran mahogany bar is the focal point, and also a great spot to settle in for a cocktail or vino from one of the area's wine producers. The owners have well utilized and preserved some of the original structure from 1886, from the open truss ceiling to Douglas fir floors. Antique French advertising posters dot the walls on both levels.
The menu features 21-day, dry-aged U.S.D.A. prime steaks, Midwestern corn-fed black Angus beef, formula fed veal, New Zealand lamb and fresh seafood. It's seasonal and artisanal as much as possible, which mostly shows up in desserts, salads and the generous side dishes.
