Chianina Steakhouse - Long Beach
The Italian steakhouse concept is based in Long Beach, Calif., and specializes in seasonal fare and steaks. Chianina is especially jumping on Thursdays when guests may order $7 glasses of sparkling wine and raw oysters and baked clams for $1.50 each.
But it's the steaks that steal the show at this dazzling eatery that's a draw for business crowds and those on romantic dates. Because it's difficult to find Chianina steaks outside of Italy, the owners have taken it upon themselves to raise the specialized cattle in the United States. The restaurant, in fact, is one of the few in the country offering Chianina steaks. You'll find short rib, New York strip and a 29-ounce, bone-in ribeye for two on the menu.
Non-beef choices include Colorado rack of lamb, half Jidori chicken, wild king salmon and Devil's Gulch rabbit saddle.
