Brenner's Steakhouse on the Bayou Houston

When I say I’ve been trying to get here for weeks, I mean it! Well he surprised me for brunch yesterday, meh… The service is not warm, welcoming, or inviting. Server kept reminding us that he was new and didn’t know much. He also told us that they don’t have a drink menu. The lady helping to train him seemed very annoyed when we asked her questions. In fact she was rude a couple times regarding items not on the menu, at one time she said “why you want some”. Other than that, the food was decent, and the view is beautiful. I’d like to try happy hour at the blue bar but don’t think I’d chance the experience. I’ll mark this place off my list & not recommend or return.

My husband and I came here yesterday for dinner together!! We sat outside and the ambiance was beautiful. I loved the environment, and it was very peaceful. I enjoyed all the lighting, music, and the patio was quite breezy and cool. Perfect spot for a celebration or date night with someone you love. We had two waitresses that's waited on us. Francesca took great care of us. The other young lady was lovely as well; we couldn't remember her name. Also, a younger man who brought out our food was nice and helped me not walk all the way up the stairs and showed me to the bathroom. He was a kind gentleman which women appreciate. I don't know his name, but I always like to recognize good service. Be sure to make a reservation because it is a smaller and intimate space. We had Pear Martinis and Lemon Martinis. (Both 5/5) Filet Mignon - Oscar (prepared rare) 5/5 rare to perfection, smooth like butter, could be pretty much cut with a fork (Smooth like butter, like a criminal undercover, Gon' pop like trouble breaking into your heart like that) and boy did this steak pop into our heart! Seafood Tower - 5/5 All the fish was so fresh and delicious. I wish I had another one right now. It's huge and full of everything, 2 lobsters, Alaskan king crab, oysters, and shrimp --yum! 43rd and Broadway - 5/5 Thank you for an amazing experience!

I really liked the environment. You can see anything but the trees and the bayou. You can enjoy drinks and food. The drinks were good, but the food, that i ate, was average bar food. Nothing spectacular. I'm going to go back. It was relaxing. That's the best way to describe it.

Not a bad restaurant. The view is decent, they have a nice patio, the inside dining area is decorated nicely, and the building itself and garden is charming. The food is fine, nothing special. The presentation is pretty lazy. They must have changed recently because their food looks nothing like the photos here. Steak just tossed on a plate sitting in its juices, the side is just throw into a bowl. It tasted good, but I probably won’t be back. It was interesting that they don’t enforce any dress code (people at dinner in shorts and t-shirts). Nice to try it once but it’s not very upscale for the price.

I attended the Wine and Food Fest at Brenner's this past weekend. What a magical place! The setting is absolutely beautiful. The event was a lot of fun with several different restaurants and wineries attending and handing out samples. There was also live music. I have never been to Brenner's for dinner but definitely plan to go back and experience that.

Beautiful place to go especially after visiting Bayou Bend. Their outdoor area has a spectacular view of the bayou and they have beautiful gardens to walk around. The food is excellent, especially their crabcakes. Drinks are good too. Definitely a place to dress up for, so dress accordingly. They had a hats off policy while we were there. Great place to celebrate a special occasion.

My wedding was more than I ever expected. Brenner's on the Bayou and Ashley guided me through the entire process. Staff was great. The food was superb. And if you're a select member of Landry's, you earn meal points.

Food and service was exceptional. Nice variety on the brunch menu. The location is beautiful and the restaurant/bar is unique. My husband is handicapped and there are alot of stairs at the entrance and inside the dining room. If you go around to the side and go down the ramp to the outdoor bar area, you can enter the dining room on the lower level and sit inside. The outdoor bar/seating area is nice too if you choose to do that. Pretty views but these tables are first come first serve. I love they have a dress code, so fancy! Will definitely go back for dinner next time.

Food is lacking. I ordered lamb chops. I was so disappointed when it came with some kind of sweet glaze or sauce. That should be on the side for those who want it. It ruined the meal. Lobster mac had a nice amount of lobster but still lacking in flavor town. I wasn't a fan of bacon in my lobster mac either. A for the location, A for the service, C on the food.

This is my favorite place to eat! So yummy I can’t get enough. Perfectly drawn butter for the char broiled king crab, which is cut open for you so super easy to eat. Their balsamic mushrooms are over the top delicious. Mash potatoes are so yummy and REAL. All the steak are cooked to perfection. The grilled oysters are a great appetizer. They also have 1942!
