Ranked one of the twenty best steakhouses in America by Tasting Table, Urban Farmer had already made a name for itself in Denver and Portland when it opened its newest location in Philadelphia. Tasting Table raves, "steak...sumptuous, grass and corn-fed local beef served with local wine and plenty of appetizing side dishes, like macaroni and cheese and fingerling potatoes. Aside from their steak, the shrimp cocktail with avocado, cilantro, and lime is next-level amazing. Their butternut squash soup is excellent, too, with several different layers of flavors and an earthy bite of sage at the end. You can also dress your steak up with truffle and blue cheese butter, or add a generous slice of bone marrow with charred bread, onions, and lemon."

The menu at Urban Farmer is broad and deep. You can start classic with oysters or scallops, wagyu carpaccio or Spanish octopus, all perfect preparation for the big beef to come. There is a lot of New York steak on the menu, and a fun way to enjoy your steak -- and to appreciate the unique flavors and textures -- is to go with the New York Steak Tasting, which gives you six-ounce portions of Joyce Farms grass-fed Creekstone natural prime and 1855 twenty-one day dry aged beef. Or get two filets, share, and enjoy the distinctive and delicious differences between Piedmontese eight-ounce grain-finished filet from Nebraska and a six-ounce corn-finished filet from Kansas.

To pair with all this mind-blowingly good beef, there's a killer collection of wines, many available by the glass. And, yes, you definitely do want to check out the dessert menu (the butterscotch sundae is strongly recommended).
