Smith & Wollensky - Las Vegas

Smith & Wollensky - Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Located in the tony Venetian Resort Las Vegas, this outpost of Smith & Wollensky is in the heart of the action with striking views of the Strip and casino action. The signature green-and-white striped awning and classic steakhouse menu should put those at ease who are looking for a bit of familiarity in a city brimming with endless dining options.

For starters, shellfish towers may be composed for two, four, or six guests. Each comes with chilled Jonah crab claws, Maine lobster, jumbo shrimp, oysters, and marinated octopus salad, plus a few additional choices for those with larger groups. Additional appetizers include a good selection of share-able dishes, from St. Louis-style BBQ ribs to American wagyu carpaccio.

There are six choices for those considering ordering the filet mignon. There's the surf and turf for two, which comes with an 18-ounce filet, twin lobster tails with garlic butter & chimichurri. A coffee-and-cocoa-rubbed filet is 10 ounces. And the twin petite filet mignon arrives prosciutto wrapped.

USDA prime steakhouse and American wagyu cuts are especially popular at Smith & Wollensky -- and the high-rolling Vegas property sees much of the action. Highlights range from the 44-ounce "swinging" tomahawk ribeye to a 46-ounce dry-aged porterhouse for two.
