Tom Colicchio's Craft Steak - Las Vegas
The MGM Grand hotel boasts some of the world's most-recognized culinary artists, including the likes of Wolfgang Puck, Emeril Lagasse and Joel Robuchon. And when it comes to superior steak, leading the pack is Tom Colicchio, the James Beard-award winning chef known best as the co-host for "Top Chef."
At Craft Steak--which is one of his many restaurants in Las Vegas--Colicchio uses only the finest ingredients from small family farms and other specialized venues. While this famous steakhouse offers mainstays like Kobe beef, specialties also include veal, salmon, lobster and farmer's market vegetables.
The room is dark and sexy, as every steakhouse should be, yet it's manages to maintain a cheery, modern atmosphere. Some of the signature dishes include grilled Kobe skirt steak, braised short ribs and lobster bisque, but an effective way to get the full Craft experience is to order the chef's menu. It changes daily, but you can always expect one of the premium Angus beef, domestic Wagyu or Japanese Wagyu beef selections as part of the three-course treat.
