Charlie Palmer's steakhouse in Reno's beautiful Grand Sierra Resort is slick, luxurious and modern, yet it maintains a classic, All-American flair. It's one of five of the celebrity chef's steakhouses and it maintains its own personality.
Guests to the restaurant will immediately notice the study in contemporary contrasts. For example, blond wooden walls are enhanced by mica and leather accents. And stylish booths, featuring natural grain faux leather baguettes and with floor-to-ceiling stretched fabric panels, create a Mondrian effect.
The restaurant's menu mixes classic and contemporary steakhouse dishes, such as pan-seared sea scallops with crispy house bacon, rosemary-crusted rack of lamb and crispy Sonoma free-range chicken.
Steaks and chops, of course, are top of the line. Highlights on offer range from a 20-ounce rib-eye steak to a 42-ounce porterhouse, which is meant to share. Toppings and add-ons include seared foie gras, creamy horseradish, peppercorn cream and blue crab Oscar style.
