John & Tony's - West Chicago
John & Tony’s in Carol Stream is a neighborhood restaurant with a menu full of deliciousness and a distinctly Italian focus.
Everything is made from scratch at John & Tony’s, and though the menu features many of the favorites you’ve come to expect at an Italian-American steakhouse, there are some novel flourishes that keep customers returning for more.

That’s a good thing because Italian cuisine is ideally suited to a good steak. There are also some non-Italian but undeniably scrumptious starters, like Brussels sprouts or cauliflower with honey-sriracha and bacon.
The menu shows a good mix of pasta dishes (of course!), including lush ravioli quattro formaggi in a creamy tomato sauce, spaghetti Bolognese with homemade meatballs and an innovative shrimp and broccoli served over angel hair pasta (also homemade, like so many other dishes at John & Tony’s, and a source of considerable pride).
For your fish course, you can enjoy glazed halibut with creamy asparagus risotto, salmon paired with shrimp in a creamy mushroom risotto and seared mahi-mahi and creamy lemon risotto. That may sound like a lot of creaminess in the risottos, but with relatively low-fat fish, you’re going to appreciate all that soft milkiness.
Now, we’re getting to the meat. Steaks, ribs and chops are all cut to order, and include filet mignon, New York strip, and, on weekends, prime rib (not to be missed!). Again, there are some John and Tony’s originals you’re sure to like, including pork chops seared in garlic butter and served with bourbon applesauce.
Before dinner, after dinner, or while you’re waiting for the family to finish dessert, chill out with some slots or poker in the video gaming lounge.
