Madame Butterfly

Madame Butterfly - Savannah

Madame Butterfly may not sound like a steakhouse, but it is, and it's a steakhouse with a difference; it's a Korean place for steak (and a lot of other delicious stuff). You've probably been to many classic American steakhouses, maybe even a Japanese steakhouse or two, but Madame Butterfly prepares the red meat in ways that are a little like the American and a little like the Japanese steak, as well as steak with a lot of distinctly Korean accents.

As at the classic American steakhouse, Madame Butterly serves up fillet mignon, prime ribeye and New York strip steaks, all natural grass-fed American cattle and all delivered to your table at your preferred doneness; it's beautiful stuff. As at Japanese steakhouses, there's Japanese A5 Wagyu filet mignon and ribeye, as delicious as beef can be. But this is a Korean steakhouse, so there are also many classic dishes from "The Land of the Morning Calm."

From the Korean menu, there are a number of steaks, all prime select cuts, some served with banchan, the traditional Korean side plates of pickles, seasoned spinach, stir-fried zucchini and other tasty tidbits. If every one at the table joins in, you can get a feast from the "Korean Steakhouse Menu": beef and pork, including thinly sliced prime beef brisket, short rib, thick cut pork belly, prime New York Strip and ribeye, hangar and skirt steaks, filet mignon and bulgogi, which you should really try (if you haven't had it before, bulgogi is translated as "fire meat," and it's made of thinly sliced, marinated meat, usually beef sirloin, ribeye or brisket, grilled or barbecued, and it is fantastic).

If you'd prefer other classic Korean dishes there's our personal favorite, bebimbap (marinated steak, egg, rice, mildly spiced gochujang sauce, and pickled vegetables) and jajangmyon "black noodles" (black bean sauce, onions, cabbage, green beans, ground pork and shiitake mushrooms).

As at most steakhouses, there's also a good selection of fish and seafood, including the "catch of the day," but also trout stuffed with crab meat as well as lobster and crab (warm water lobster stuffed with crab meat).

If you love steak but want to vary your steakhouse routine, make a date with Madame Butterfly.
