The Arthur J - Manhattan Beach
David LeFevre--of the contemporary American MB Post and seafood-focused Fishing With Dynamite--has now set his eyes on a modern steakhouse concept with The Arthur J. Located in Manhattan Beach, the restaurant is named in honor of partners Mike, Chris and Tom Simms' grandfather, whose portrait looms over the entrance.
The sleek 90-seater is located in a Midcentury Modern building, and aptly weaves in new elements with the original structure. They've spiffed up the brick walls, which runs throughout the space, and added a number of contemporary accents, from marble flooring to rich walnut ceilings.
Menu highlights include classic steak cuts, including prime bone-in ribeeye Tomahawk for two and a Certified Angus New York strip. There's plenty to nosh on for non-steak enthusiasts as well. Steamed two-pound lobster, oven-roasted chicken and whole-roasted snapper are some of the standouts.
