Gamba Restaurant here in Merrillville Indiana. We celebrate the good life life with good eats in whichever way you feel most comfortable. Dress up, or dress casual, however you feel most comfortable.

We offer classic Italian cuisine such as our Calabrian Style Braised Pork Shoulder, Sicilian Braised Lamb, Risotto Con Funghi, and many more. We offer many other types of dishes you can choose from our Salt Roasted Red and Golden Beet Salad, to our Grilled Veal Tenderloin Limone.

You can sit and enjoy cocktails at our beautiful fully stocked bar and lounge, or dine in our elegant dimly lit dining room. Our knowledgeable service staff will treat you to the best of their ability and bring to you our Chef's creations. You can experience something new, or sit down, relax and enjoy something you know you love. We come prepared with classics such as Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail with Cognac and Cocktail Sauces, Charcuterie and Cheese Board, Filet Mignon, and a heavy 14 oz. New York Strip Steak. Our chef's will have a daily feature menu offering Oyster's, Fish, Pasta, and whichever other creations they decide to make that day.

You can call us at (219)-736-5000, to see what we plan on featuring that day. If you are not in the mood to join us here, you can alway have a wonderful meal, fully prepared for you to go, including bread to go along with your meal. Our establishment also offers a catering service to offer food to impress for your function. Not only is Gamba a ristorante, but we offer a banquet hall, with stocked bar's, as well as TVs for your presentation needs. You can host whatever function you like here and rest assured, you will have a great staff taking care of you. We are open Monday through Friday, from lunch at 11:30-2:30 where you can enjoy a daily rotation of Soup, Fish, Pasta, and a Protein, then re open back up at 5-9 for our dinner service. We are open Friday and Saturday nights for Dinner from 5-10 and offer our best features these nights, from our table side french service Dover Sole, to our mouth watering Barolo Braised Short Ribs, just call to see what we have available for you.

We are big restaurant goers. We lived in Chicago and have had many great experiences from hole in the walls to fine dining, to exceptionally romantic places. I believe there are few places in NWI that can match the romantic aspect. Gambas is an exception and is by far the leader in this category. The atmosphere, ambiance is fantastic. The service was exceptional. The food, an experience. This restaurant is beautiful I have to say. We have now been 4 times and there has never been a let down. One mark I'll say is the Oysters were incredibly small and the ice they placed them on were half melted upon arrival, water was sitting in the shells. Mistakes happen. Will go back, over and over.

Very high end. Great quality and portions are just right. Pricey for the everyday meal but worth every penny for a date night or special occasion. Must try for delicious Italian cuisine. Our server Josh was amazing as was the complete support staff. Highly recommend.

Positive experience. Talk about a wonderful location to have a wedding venue. A special place to celebrate before & after a beautiful ceremony. Not only bride & groom was ecstatic but the guests was amazed as well. Delicious food, great servers including bartenders, huge space to dance & what an elegant atmosphere. Was treated way beyond so we (everyone who attended) give 4 Stars definitely! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Was looking forward to my first time at Gamba’s, I even reserved online in hopes of seating quickly. Here’s an honest review of our experience, waited 30mins to be seated so reservation system isn't accurate, after we were seated ordered our food and waited an additional hour before our food was served. During our hour wait we couldn’t help but over hear people sitting to our sides, seating was tight not an intimate dining experience for two and chairs weren't comfortable for a long wait. Food arrived but wasn't as expected, meat was not cooked as requested and center of meat was cool not warm/hot. It was pretty busy so we’re going to give Gambas a second try in the future. Happy Eating!

Catered party. Staff was remarkable. So attentive. Food was absolutely delicious. Atmosphere was very light and enjoyable. Definitely deserves a return visit.

The atmosphere is beautiful. The service was great. But the tables are way to close together. The drinks are way too strong to drink. We waited 45 minutes for our food to come out. The food was ok. We got the wagyu steak was ok. But really fatty for 45.00 each plate. We spent 135.89. My bread plate was dirty, my cup was dirty. Will not be returning or recommending to friends or family

Overall, the experience was great! The service was exceptional. The food was good. I would recommend the vanilla gelato. We asked to speak to management about complimenting the good service and the owner was extremely dismissive. Benny did not seem to care what we had to say not sure because we were “young” or what. I recommend anyone who comes here to ask for Michael and Addison. They offered exceptional service. I think management should look more into treating there employees better.

Had a great time with my family for Mother's Day Brunch. Service was great and the food was amazing! Our server Jonathan was on top of everything! Only negative was we had a 12pm reservation and it was almost 1pm by the time we got sat. There was a lot of us so I understand the difficulty in accommodating a large group, but after waiting an hour past our reservation, an apology for the wait would have been nice when we were spending $65 a person.
