Low-slung ceilings, hardwood floors and cozy, burgundy leather booths add to its appeal. Its setting encourages diners to stick around as they nosh on the menu's indulgent fare.
Decadence begins with opening bites, of course. Guests may order from an extensive raw bar that includes chilled lobster, shrimp cocktail, king crab and caviar. The best way to experience it all is to order one of the seafood towers, which range from $79.95 to $138.95. Additional appetizers range from lobster chowdah in a puff pastry to broiled Humboldt Fog, a soft, artisanal goat cheese from California.
Steak offerings at Marcel are bountiful, and guests will find a number of prime cuts. That includes an eight-ounce filet, 42-ounce Porterhouse and beef Wellington, which must be ordered 24 hours in advance and consists of a puffed pastry filled with Chateaubriand, mushroom duxelles and prosciutto.
There's also a late-night menu that includes a soft-crab omelet, cheeseburger, steak frites and king crab fondue. A cigar menu of fine cigars as well as a selection of brandy and scotch is also available.
