Al Biernat's North - Dallas
Al Biernat's illustrious career in the restaurant industry spans more than 30 years, with several of those including stints at famed steakhouses like The Palm. He's worked every front-of-house position, from busboy to general manager.
He's taken those years of experience to open his own establishments, his namesake eateries in Oak Lawn and North Dallas. Biernat's strong family-business philosophy has created a loyal staff in which some have been employed since the opening. The personalized service gives guests the illusion they're dining at a high energy neighborhood restaurant.
There's no brunch at the North Dallas location, but guests may treat themselves to a decadent lunch during the week. Start with temptations like beef Wellington bites or shrimp mango ceviche, and finish with gourmet sandwiches like the prime rib French dip or a Texas Wagyu cheeseburger.
Those looking for heartier meals during lunch may go for the daily specials such as the beef stroganoff over pappardelle (Mondays), chicken fried chciken (Wednesdays) or prime rib with skillet potatoes on Fridays.
You won't find the beef tenderloin on the dinner menu, but there is a nine-ounce buffalo tenderloin. There's also a wet-aged New York strip, "cowboy cut" ribeye and a 30-ounce prime Porterhouse for two.
