TAO Downtown, situated in New York's chic Chelsea neighborhood, is subterranean and comprised of a restaurant and late-night destination. It is intended to look and feel as if it has been there for decades, and upon arrival, guests encounter a long corridor with a dragon scale patterned screen and Chinese calligraphy murals mounted on weathered brick walls.

The menu features small plates, sushi, dim sum, yakitori, noodles and more. Diners are encouraged to mix and match, making the most out of their experience. Highlights range from share-able rock shrimp lettuce cups to barbecue duck fried rice. There's also seafood black rice with lobster, shrimp, crab and crispy squid, Malaysian coconut shrimp and filet mignon done "Toyko style" with bone marrow, mushrooms and onions.
There are, of course, specialty Asian-inspired cocktails, from the lychee martini to a Pama Sutra of tequila, pomegranate liqueur and kalamansi lime.
