Red Maple - Gretna
Just east and across the river from uptown New Orleans, Gretna is part of the New Orleans-Metairie-Kenner metropolitan statistical area. One of its most notable dining establishments is Red Maple, a classic steakhouse boasting distinct New Orleans accents.
From the aged, prime cuts of steak and fresh seafood to the wood accents and exposed brick facade, Red Maple has been around for more than 50 years. A mainstay of the parish, political and business crowd for generations, the Red Maple was originally owned and operated by the Trauth Family, a German-American family of restaurateurs spanning 100 years in Gretna.
Guests may savor every bite of the Crab Remick or experience the Redfish Pontchartrain, pan-seared redfish filet topped with lump crabmeat and mushroom-sherry cream. Steaks are all made from premium U.S.D.A. certified Louisiana Legacy Beef. During lunch, Red Maple features the "Ten Buck Lunch" menu, bringing back old favorites like turtle soup and beef brisket.
