Carnevor Steakhouse Moderne - Milwaukee
One of Milwaukee's most upscale restaurants, Carnevor moved into a new home in early 2016. With that move came a new menu and setting, igniting freshness to an establishment that's been around for more than 10 years.
Of course, its main focus is on wet- and dry-aged USDA prime beef, and it continues to excel at that. Carnevor features steaks such as a 40-day dry-aged ribeye at $76 for 20 ounces; the steak is from a Wagyu-Angus crossbred steer raised at the restaurant's Hidden Creek Farm. Other beef attractions include a barrel-cut filet mignon, New York strip and Japanese wagyu filet.
Non-steak eaters should also find many choices on the menu to suit them. From a slow-roasted South African lobster tail to cider-braised, bone-in chicken thighs, Carnevor's signature entrees are creative takes on classic steakhouse dishes.
