The Packing House - Milwaukee
Family owned since it was established in 1974, the Packing House is a bit of an icon in Milwaukee. The supper club-style restaurant is a regular haunt for local residents, and the Friday fish fry and live-music events (Wednesday through Saturday) are typically lively and well attended.
There are steaks on the menu, of course, and they're each served with a side dish such as wild rice pilaf and fresh vegetables. Choose from a boneless ribeye, an extra-large, 14-ounce center-cut tenderloin grand steer filet or signature garlic-stuffed filet. Prime rib is offered Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, and additional chops include veal Oscar and barbecue pork ribs.
Inventive seafood entrees range from flounder stuffed with artichoke and spinach to Canadian Walleye prepared pan-fried or a la amandine, or garnished with almonds.
