Mo's...A Place for Steaks - Milwaukee

Conventionally, Mo's...A Place for Steaks is a steakhouse in the traditional sense. You'll find leather chairs and live music, making it great for dates or occasions with friends and family. It's simply the type of place people frequent when they want to step it up a notch.

But first, the steaks. There's something for everyone here. Diners with lighter appetites may nosh on a four-ounce filet mignon, while those looking for something heartier should find pleasure in Mo's signature bone-in ribeye that's 20 ounces. There are also authentic wagyu filets ranging from four to 12 ounces.

Appetizers and side dishes are where Mo's gets creative. Guests should relish in choices such as lobster ceviche, tomato basil risotto, truffle mashed potatoes and lobster mac 'n' cheese. There are also limited sushi offerings, which include a "chef's choice" maki roll.

Mo’s did not disappoint! Great service, drinks and food. Steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Sides here are a la carte and served family style, so we shared the lobster mac, roasted asparagus and sautéed mushrooms. Meals came with salad and bread. Salad was pretty weak, but everything else we had was excellent! I’d recommend checking out Mo’s if you’re looking for a great steak! 🥩

Entire experience was superb! Our team of Carly, Hector and Joey were fantastic. Top notch! Food was absolutely delicious especially the rich scallops. Steak was cooked to perfection. If you are ever in downtown Milwaukee this is a must dine!

One of the best steak places in Milwaukee. Nice friendly staff with a beautiful ambiance. I’ve visited multiple times and never had any issues with the service or food. Martinis are so strong you only need one. The starburst was my favorite. One of the best crab cakes I’ve ever had. I will always visit when I want a nice home cooked meal and don’t want to cook myself.

Booked a private room for 12 for my wife's 40th birthday. Kate was the manager who booked everything, she was very responsive to our needs and last minute changes. Private room was perfectly quiet and the three servers were responsive and did a perfect job. The food was phenomenal. I had a 8 oz. Wagyu and it was a perfect medium. lobster Mac n cheese was also delicious. Great Martinis, I had a dirty and a French. Great service and Great food what else can you ask for ?

We went to Milwaukee to visit the Harley Davidson Museum - it was our first evening in town and my spouse was looking up local restaurants to eat at, while she was looking this restaurant came up & on the “$” symbols to gauge the prices it was 3/5 which we thought wasn’t bad. We tried looking on there website to locate a menu with pricing on it, but we were unsuccessful as they don’t provide stuff like that. We decided to go there, my spouse walked in looking all good, and I walk in there with a Hawaiian style flower shirt on with jeans, and a pair of all black shoes. We entered the restaurant and were greeted by employee wearing very fancy outfits (should have been the first give away) they took up to our seats and sat us down next to a table of older men in suite and ties ( second give away) and they just stare at us because we were clearly out of place. The waiter comes over asks if we’re “celebrating anything special tonight?” I told her I didn’t think so, and she then laid down our paper menus, before we could look another waiter was pour water for us onto some fancy glasses - finally we were alone and glanced down at the menus and we froze up quicker than a bearing with no grease. The prices are absolutely outrageous, anyone who pays that kinda money is foolish - go to the local store and purchase all the same things at a fraction of the cost it’d be at this restaurant. We got up and told them that “this just isn’t our style” and left. I’m sure we weren’t he first people to do this, and surely won’t be the last. I kept the menu as a vacation souvenir to remember about the time we ALMOST went bankrupt and I will post it so no one else makes the mistake we almost made! Post your prices online like everyone else - be transparent.

Always amazing food, service, drinks, and atmosphere here! Some of the best steaks around. Drinks are strong. 🍸😋Have been coming at least once to twice a year for special occasions, and they never disappoint! Have even had the same server multiple times over the last couple years and she is always amazing! Dessert on the house for birthdays is always appreciated and delicious. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants and steak places in the entire SE WI. Upstairs is quieter than the lower area or the bar. Well worth asking for.

OMG the steak I had was just unbelievable. The char was perfect. The seasoning did not overpower the flavor of the steak. The steak was cooked to perfection. The flavor was to die for. It was expensive but worth every penny. The staff was great. I went there for my birthday and they brought me a brownie topped with vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate and caramel cream. We had calamari for appetizers. It too was cooked to perfection. The only thing I could ding them on, and this is so petty, the Mac and cheese could use a little salt. Just my taste. It was oozing with cheese. Had a nice little crust. Very good.

There are a lot of places to get a steak in Milwaukee, but Mo's service is top notch. Friendly, inviting, personal. They take the time to get to know you, and that really pays off and makes it special on your second, third, and fourth visit. I'm always excited to stop in even for a drink. Great staff.

Very pricey but you get what you pay for! Excellent food that is way beyond an average restaurant. They even had a special birthday menu for me! Definitely will be coming here again. It is now my favorite place for steaks. I'm getting hungry just thinking about the food we had there!

The ambiance and staff is intimate & friendly. I wish I could say I loved the food but it was mediocre at best. Do like the selection of wine that they offer but did not seem like the servers knew pairings and what's good with red meat, seafood, etc. The French onion soup had great flavor but the Lobster bisque has a funky after taste, like that of old seafood. Truffle mash potatoes were the star unfortunately. Smooth & silky with just enough truffle. The steak filet had no flavor, was overcooked as well as the scallops. Brought my mother whom has knee issues and the place is not elderly friendly as they gave us a seat up stairs no lift. Had been many years ago and it was impeccable but it seems the quality has declined since then drastically.

This restaurant was right across (we walked) from the loft we stayed at while visiting from Michigan for our An anniversary. The menus were personalized with Happy Anniversary 😊 We were left sitting for about 15 minutes but the waiter apologized. Our drinks and desserts were on the house! Everything was delicious the service was great and atmosphere was cozy. Their Chocolate butter for the dinner bread was unique and tasty. Their Cheesecake was outstanding.

First time dining at Mo's last night for my fiancés birthday. The entire experience did not disappoint, from the hostess, bartender, wait staff, and valet. They even had a pianist in the bar area, which we thought was a nice touch. Everyone was very personable and sincere, the food was great and I felt on par with the pricing in my experiences. We will definitely be back! Thank you to the entire staff!

Went with friends for dinner on Saturday night. Mo's is a nice place but I would say average for what I would expect from a "downtown" restaurant. The service was adequate the stakes were better then average but nothing to say "WOW" about. I ordered mine medium-rare it was a bit over cooked with no pink in the center. Just not worth the trouble of doing anything about it when there are 3 others at the table. So Mo's is very good, but there are steak houses/ supper clubs in Milwaukee that are much better they just don't have that "downtown atmosphere", one is west of downtown on state St. and the other is in St. Francis.
