Daniel's Broiler

Daniel's Broiler - Bellevue

The three Daniel's Broiler locations, Chandler's Crabhouse, the contemporary American Spazzo eatery and Schwartz Bros. Bakery are under the Schwartz Bros. restaurant group umbrella. The company was founded in 1970, so they've had ample time to hone their craft.

The Bellevue, Wash. outpost for Daniel's Broiler is situated on the 21st floor of the Bank of America building in the Bellevue Place complex. Diners are treated to spectacular views of Olympic Mountains, downtown Bellevue, and the Seattle skyline from the outdoor decks.

The menu consists of classic steakhouse dishes with a few upgrades here and there. For example, the appetizer menu is dotted with items that have clearly been updated by a creative chef. Crispy artichoke hearts arrive with a garlic Hollandaise dipping sauce. Grilled scallops are bacon wrapped and topped with Sambuca butter sauce. And coconut-fried mini lobster comes with roasted pineapple chili dipping sauce.

Daniel's Broiler's steaks, chops and prime rib are served with signature garlic mashed potatoes or a jumbo baked potato. Steaks range from a 16-ounce ribeye to a 20-ounce, bone-in Delmonico. There are also Australian lamb chops, pork rib chops and veal rib chops. A slow-cooked USDA prime rib is also on the menu, but it's in limited availability.

What's great about Daniel's Broiler is that all side dishes serve two or more guests. Choose from the lobster mac and cheese, lobster mashed potatoes and steamed jumbo asparagus.

Non-steak eaters should relish in a number of other offerings. The pan-roasted garlic chicken, lobster club salad, Creole shrimp Diane and Alaskan king crab come highly recommended.

Business lunch is also a popular time at Daniel's Broiler. In addition to an abbreviated menu of steaks and chops, choices include sandwiches, salads and pasta entrees. Highlights range from a Cuban sandwich topped with thinly sliced ham and cold smoked salmon; a prime rib dip and a BLT turkey club.

Happy Hour occurs 4-6:30pm daily in the restaurant's lounge. Guests get discounted wine, draft beer and signature cocktails.
