The M&M Restaurant & Bar - Galveston
This historic Galveston, Texas-based destination is a true survivor, beating the odds against two storms (the Great Galveston Hurricane in 1900 that killed more than 6,000 as well as 2008's Hurricane Ike, which resulted in $25 billion in damages), bankruptcy and many owners. The M&M Restaurant & Bar has been a dining destination, grocery store, rooming house, saloon and restaurant once again when it was resurrected in 2010.
Current owners Coastal Taverns Partnership have preserved much of its original structure in an effort to pay homage to its humble beginnings in 1844. The menu highlights many steak, seafood, non-red meat and pasta entrees. Favorite choices include USDA hand-cut prime steaks, pecan-crusted snapper, Jack Daniels-glazed apple pork chops and Cajun seafood pasta,
