Kirby's Prime Steaks & Seafood - Spring
Kirby’s Charcoal Steakhouse opened in 1954 as Dallas' first-ever specialty steakhouse. It was owned by B.J. Kirby, whose stately eatery quickly gained a reputation as a great place to celebrate a special occasion. In 1987, after 33 successful years at the original Greenville Avenue location, B.J. decided to retire and close the restaurant.
It reopened in 1993 at a different address in Dallas, under a new name and under the ownership of good friends of B.J. Kirby. Its success has spawned additional outposts near DFW airport, San Antonio and in the downtown area of Oklahoma City.
Kirby's specializes in Midwestern, grain-fed, aged prime beef with offerings such as a 10-ounce Roquefort filet, 16-ounce New York strip and 22-ounce prime "cowboy cut" ribeye. The restaurant also offers fresh seafood, daily chef-driven specials, and a spectacular collection of New and Old World wine housed in an impressive cellar of more than 4,000 bottles.
Kirby's boasts a trendy jazz bar and lounge featuring live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
