Best Dallas/Fort Worth Steakhouses for Seafood

When you think of Texas chow, what probably comes to mind is barbecued brisket…or steak. This is the land of magnificent meat. The Texas plains have traditionally been the grazing ground for longhorns, and there are a lot of steakhouses in the Lone Star State.

But in this modern day of ours, with overnight shipments available from any part of the world, there’s a whole new range of fish available, and the best fish anywhere can be found at the best steakhouses.

Here are six Dallas/Fort Worth restaurants that serve wonderful meat and fish.

Table 13. Winner of the 2018 Open Table Diner’s Choice Award, Table 13 is the place you want to be if your New Year’s resolution involves eating more seafood than you did during the final months of last year. There’s classic Beef Wellington and Steak Diane, sure, but if you have fish on the brain, what you want is the Sea Bass (herb encrusted with citrus-infused tomato coulis) and Salmon Meuniere (seared, served with brown butter and green beans amandine). You won’t be sorry you didn’t order steak.

Nick and Sam’s. In Nick and Sam’s cavernous dining room, you’ll find some of the best fish and seafood in Texas. Kick off dinner with oysters, caviar or Scottish salmon. Maybe pause for some Nick and Sam’s classics like Fried Lobster or Lobster Mac n’ Cheese. Then charge into spectacular offerings from the sea like Skuna Bay Salmon or Scottish Ocean Trout, incredible. With fish this good, you don’t have to do much to it to make it marvelous.

Steve Fields Steak and Lobster Lounge. Prime cuts and superb seafood blast Steve Fields Steak and Lobster Lounge into the stratosphere of fine dining in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The seafood here comes big: jumbo crab cakes, shrimp and scallops. There are also some unique and delicious preparations like Maple Glazed Scallops and Pecan Crusted Trout. You may forget you ever came to Steve Fields for steak (just kidding, but still, you’re going to love this fish as much as any steak).

Houston’s. When you have a truly spectacular protein, whether beef or fish, you may not want to dress it up too much because you want the natural goodness of the food to shine through. At Houston’s, they rely on the skill of the chef to bring out the beauty of Faroe Island Salmon or Arctic Char. Sauce is just fine, but fish this fantastic can stand on its own.

Kirby’s Prime Steaks and Seafood. At Kirby’s Prime Steaks and Seafood – Dallas’ first specialty steakhouse – there’s a lot of both the turf and the surf. Some of the more unusual and creative surf innovations include Grilled Redfish with Jumbo Lump Crab, Pan Roasted Seabass with lobster risotto and King and Turf, a Blue Ribbon filet mignon with Alaskan King Crab legs. Oh, yeah, you want it. You know you do.

Arthur’s Prime Steaks and Seafood.  The wall of brightly lit aquaria that line the dark and comfy dining room at Arthur’s Prime Steaks and Seafood tells you all you need to know about the emphasis here on proteins from the deep. Cioppino, the original San Francisco treat, is served with a whole Canadian lobster tail. Seared George’s Bank Sea Scallops will set the bar for all scallops to come. The Norwegian salmon is stuffed with lobster and jumbo crab meat. Need we say more?
