Barclay Prime - Philadelphia
Located in the historic Barclay Building in Rittenhouse Square, this luxury steakhouse is simultaneously classic and contemporary. Barclay Prime's walls are lined with old-fashioned bookshelves, and its chairs are utterly modern, designed in bright green and white leather. They set off nicely against the dining room's white accents.
While the menu is standard steakhouse fare, they've amplified it from beginning to end. The raw bar features tuna tartare, crudo and caviar. An appetizer menu showcases roasted foie gras, Parisian-style gnocchi and jumbo lump crab cakes. And the steak highlights range from 28-day aged ribeye to a 40-day New York strip. There are also three Wagyu offerings, including two authentic Japanese steaks. Non-steak diners will find such entrees as roasted Branzino, butter-poached lobster and wild Dover sole appealing.
The dessert menu also steps it up for a steakhouse. There is house-made ice cream and sorbets, Key Lime pie and a milk chocolate and banana mousse cake.
