Morton's The Steakhouse

Morton's The Steakhouse - Great Neck

With a name the whole U.S. – and maybe the whole world – associates with the best steak, Morton’s The Steakhouse in Great Neck upholds a proud tradition of excellent food, particularly red meat. In addition to spectacular steak, this Morton’s The Steakhouse location serves fabulous fish and many traditional sides and desserts that will make your day.

Located on the North Shore of Long Island, Morton’s The Steakhouse in Great Neck is an upscale location of the restaurant empire that always promises – and delivers on – an upscale experience.

The starters include the traditional items like jumbo shrimp cocktail and oysters on the half shell, but there are also some less usual items, including jumbo shrimp Alexander (a Morton’s The Steakhouse signature dish with shallots, garlic and butter) and short rib steak tacos.

Salads are no slackers, either, with classics like center cut ice berg and Caesar salads, but we’re guessing most who go to Morton’s The Steakhouse in Great Neck are there for the steak. And on that count, this classic restaurant comes through big time with center cut filet mignon, porterhouse, signature cut prime New York strip, center cut prime ribeye, double porterhouse for two, Cajun ribeye and five peppercorn rubbed prime strip steak. There’s also a Chicago style prime bone-in ribeye, also called the cowboy cut.

About steak, Zagat praises this Morton’s The Steakhouse location, saying “Steaks ’like butter’ drive meat-loving herds to this Great Neck outpost in the ’distinguished’ chophouse chain, where the ’beautiful cuts’ are complemented by ’amazing sides’, seafood and desserts; elegant and ’comfortable’ environs plus ’star’ treatment from ’professional’ servers add sizzle…”

Sides will not be pushed to the, um, side, and at Morton’s The Steakhouse in Great Neck, there are a few side dishes that stand apart from the usual steakhouse offerings, including Lyonnaise potatoes, parmesan and truffle matchstick fries, as well as Chicago style horseradish mashed potatoes.

If you’re wondering why so many dishes are prefixed “Chicago style,” it’s because Morton’s The Steakhouse began in Chicago, and from there it spread across the United States and the world. Wherever your nearest Morton’s The Steakhouse is located, you’ll find that it is a classic place for the best steaks anywhere.
