Kobe's Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar Bismarck

Food was absolutely delicious that we came here for dinner 2 days in a row. The atmosphere and service is phenomenal. Eric was such an awesome cook/made us feel welcomed. If I am back in Bismarck, I am definitely coming here again.

Soup: tasteless mushrooms floating in water. Main Course: slimey 2-3 oz piece of salmon floating in cheap, sticky, jello-like sauce, along with a dollop of white rice. All served at room temperature, as if the food had been sitting out for 15 minutes before server placed it on my table. $27.00. Sat on a narrow aisle next to a family with 3 small kids, the youngest in a high chair, whining and crying throughout meal. As I was leaving the manager asked if I enjoyed the meal. What a joker! I complained about the mediocre, bland, gooey, barely edible food. He tried to blame all this on the chef. Like I say, what a joker. Worst restaurant I've been in in quite some time. Manager's response was an insult to human intelligence.

Been here about 25 times, still amazing and Chef Jay is the best in the west and I mean it!

Incredibly fresh and delicious nigiri sushi. They told me not to use the soy sauce as the chef had put a special house sauce on it. 10 stars for that...

I come here a few times a year for people's birthdays. We do the hibachi. Usually really delicious and entertaining. Worth the price. But this last time was not good. The cook seemed very irritated and just cooked everything as fast as he could and got out of there. We were probably his last table that's why. But spending that kind of money it does not feel worth it at that point. But every other time it has been really awesome. I edited my main review and added this paragraph because I thought about it more. For the whole table it had to have been $400 to $500. AND It was mothers day. If this costed me $20 than it wouldn't be such an issue. But I paid for my family of 4 $200 to recieve 15 mins of feeling unwanted, and just okay good is not okay. You need to reserve a time and pay premium prices here. This shouldn't happen.

One of my favorite restaurants in Bismarck! Been going for years and service has always been great. Servers are very friendly and very good at refilling drinks/taking away empty plates. Food is absolutely amazing! Highly recommend their Twin of the Sea, Passion roll, and Rainbow Roll. Their gyoza and miso soup is really good too. They have a good variety with their menu. Gotten many friends to start liking sushi by taking them to Kobe’s.
