If you know Charlotte, North Carolina, only for its seafood, you may be surprised – even shocked! – to learn that it’s home to some of the country’s best steakhouses.

Here are ten *shockingly* good steakhouses, all in Charlotte.

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill is famous for its burgers, but we recommend you enjoy their 12 -ounce chili-rubbed Delmonico, a local classic.

131 Main Restaurant has mucho seafood on the menu and lots of outstanding steak, including the Big Island Ribeye, butchered in house, aged 35 days.

Harry’s Grille and Tavern, one of Charlotte’s best kept secret, has one of the best steaks, ever: Black Angus Filet Mignon with forest mushrooms.

The Dunavant offers peak eating experiences: we suggest enhancing your steak with Butter Poached Crab Claw meat. Unforgettable.

Harbor Inn Seafood has excellent steaks, and we like the Sliced and Marinated Flank Steak.

The Porter’s House serves a centerpiece 16-ounce Prime Ribeye, one of the most wonderful pieces of meat you will ever feast upon.

Oak Steakhouse is a dream-come-true for lovers of red meat who fall in love with their 42 ounce Prime Tomahawk (which you may want to share…or not).

Rio Steakhouse is a Brazilian style steakhouse, and you know what that means: lots of meat, including a wood-fired Garlic Picanha, and here, you can eat all that you care to (or can).

Beef and Bottle  was named one of Open Table’s “Best Steakhouses in America,” a designation earned daily with offerings like the Center Cut Sirloin, a simple dish that’s just fabulous.

Fuji Japanese Steakhouse serves up their steak hibachi style, and you can’t go wrong with a piece of superior beef topped with shrimp, scallops or lobster.
