5ive Steakhouse - Plymouth
Several high-profile praises have been bestowed upon Inn at St. John's Hotel, from Michigan magazine ("Best of Michigan, meetings and events," 2016) to TripAdvisor (Certificate of Excellence, 2016). It's a popular place for weddings as well as for business outings and those visiting nearby universities.
5ive Steakhouse, no doubt named in honor of the famous Five Mile Road of which it is upon, anchors the property. It's right off the lobby, and offers diners a chic, inviting atmosphere. There's alfresco dining during warm months, and oversized umbrellas are over each table. Diners have great views of a spurting fountain, picturesque gardens and fire pit during the season. Inside, the restaurant showcases a classic steakhouse experience and setting, with muted tones, hardwood accents and white tablecloths.
5ive Steakhouse is popular with local residents and hotel guests. There are specials that are no doubt coveted by residents from downtown Plymouth and Northville, which are both two miles away from the restaurant.
Monday through Thursday, from 5 to 7pm, is happy hour at 5ive Steakhouse. That's when guests get together for discounted small bites, draft beers, and featured wines by the glass and cocktails. And Tuesdays feature the wine and prime rib dinner special. Guests get the dinner for $25, plus it's half off on house bottles and glasses of wine.
Guests of the hotel will also be thrilled to know that there's a breakfast buffet (They may also order it a la carte). It's served daily 6 to 9am, cost $13.95 and features a chef-prepared hot entree (choose from farm-fresh eggs, omelets, pancakes or steel-cut oatmeal), then a buffet of fresh fruit, pastries, waffles, cereal and toast.
For those who prefer the real 5ive Steakhouse experience, dinner is a must. Steak lovers should appreciate the fact that the restaurant offers Angus reserve, USDA prime, Snake River Farms Wagyu and beef from a network of the top cattle ranches across the globe. They're hand cut and chosen from the top two percent of grain and grass-fed cows and the beef is aged a minimum of 28 days.
All cuts, such as the Angus reserve bavette steak and prime natural Delmonico, are finished with herbed garlic butter and
presented with a choice of Detroit zip sauce, béarnaise or
bourbon demi-glace. Other staples at 5ive Steakhouse include BBQ short ribs, roasted salmon and butter-poached sea scallops.
