Ruth's Chris Steakhouse - Odenton
Ruth's Chris may not be the fanciest steakhouse chain around, but it certainly cuts no corners when it comes to standards. A strict dress code is at work here, so those coming from the gym might want to think twice.
No athletic wear, tank tops ( for gentlemen), clothing with "offensive" graphics or language, flip flops, cut-off shorts or torn clothing are allowed, yet guys are not required to wear a jacket. For some hoping to grab a casual bite, that might be a deal breaker, but for others, the menu makes it worth the hassle.
The chain, of course, is best known for USDA prime steaks--from filet mignon to a Porterhouse for two prepared tableside. Each is cooked at 500 degrees. Specialty entrees include Caribbean lobster tail, lobster mac and cheese, and lamb chops served with fresh mint. One of the menu's hit specialty dishes is the oven-roasted chicken, a 16-ounce, free-range double chicken breast that's stuffed with garlic herb cheese and lemon butter.
The Odenton location is also a popular destination for lunch. That's when diners can order over-sized portions of salads, plus sandwiches like the grilled chicken club, salmon burger and crab BLT with zucchini fries.
This outpost is also a favorite for Ruth's Chris' "Sizzle Swizzle Swirl Happy Hour." The Monday through Friday program offers drinks and food at a discount, which includes burgers, oysters and cocktails. That's available Sunday through Friday in the bar and patio.
Equally important is the prime rib dinner. It's only served on Sundays at this location. The Village of Odenton Station and Odenton MARC Station are near the restaurant.
