Ocean Prime Boston steakhouse

Very good food and a buzzing, hip atmosphere. The place was full on a Tuesday night. I had a blackened snapper- delicious. Cocktails are good as well. My friend recommended buttercream cake for dessert and it was huge, good for sharing. Our server (don’t know his name) was great.

Last night my husband and I made reservations at Ocean Prime Boston to welcome his friends from Shanghai to Boston. The restaurant is located in the modern Boston Seaport and there is valet parking for a fee given parking in the Boston Seaport is challenging. We were greeted upon entering and offered early seating. I had the Black Orchid for a cocktail and it was an impressive presentation! The oysters were nice, but they were not as fresh or tasty as expected. The Chilean Bass was absolutely fabulous with a nice truffle sauce. The desserts we chose were the Butter Cake and Chocolate cake both were a perfect ending to our meal. Our server was very nice and had a great personality. He was very busy, but he did his best to offer suggestions and to assist us. Highly recommend for a special evening out!

Christina made our visit to Ocean Prime amazing! Her knowledge of the menu, her delightful personality, and her wonderful gift for making us feel like regulars all contributed to a fantastic night out! Visiting from Colorado, we were so happy to feel like we had a local friend in Boston. She is a unique and gifted server. We can't speak highly enough of her! Oh yeah, the food was amazing too! The steak tartare, cod with lobster and gnocchi, and Chilean Sea Bass were wonderful. The 10 layer carrot cake to go was simply delicious!!!

Food was fresh and great! I ordered the cod and it was one of the best cod I've ever tasted. It's cooked perfectly and seasoned well. I couldn't care less for the gnocchi in there, it's a little heavy comparing to the light and hearty taste of the dish, wish they would replace it with something else. The lamb was bigger than I thought so we ended up taking 1 chop home. Definitely go with medium on the lamb, it was tender and cooked nicely.

This is definitely a case where I wish we could add half stars. While I don't think OP has earned 3 stars, it definitely didn't earn 4. First impression,...

The food and the service are great. The servers are very well trained in assisting customers with wine selection. I would recommend the seafood tower, which is phenomenal. The only thing is that the main dining area is very loud. It is really difficult to hear the people you sit with. I would recommend big parties to sit in the small dining area. It is not loud as it is off to the side and not many people can sit there.

Terrible service & awful food. I just had the worst experience. 3 of us just had lunch - 7/20 12p. We waited 10min at the door till someone waited on us. We sat at a hightop in the bar. The bartender was our server. We could see he was busy so we ordered everything at once. Food came, 2 meals were right and mine was not. The server took it back. 15min gone by and I had to ask...is my food coming? Bartender said yes. 5 min later my food came and it looked awful. Burnt chicken and drenched salad. Didn't even eat it. Never once, a check in or an apology! Next thing we know the check was thrown on the table and nobody cared....all 3 of us left upset! Table next to us.....same deal! They were having an awful experience and nobody cared..... The most frustrating part was the manager. Tall women with a mask on. She could care less. She was staring out the window doing nothing while the restaurant filled up and her workers were running. Never once spoke with a customer or an employee! How does this happen? She didn't even say by to us as we were leaving (she was standing by the door). This women needs to go to management school now. I've been a Seaport resident for 6+yrs and Ocean Prime was always one of my favorite spots. What happened??
