Cochon Volant - Chicago
Cochon Volant is a bar, brasserie and bakery lead by James Beard Award winning chef Roland Liccioni of Les Nomades, located in Chicago's Theater District. Roland Liccioni took over the kitchen of legendary Le Francais restaurant from Jean Banchet. Even Charlie Trotter's, Le Francaise put the Midwest (and the Chicagoland area, specifically) on the international food map.
Read MoreAfter Le Francais, Liccioni went on to work at Les Nomades, and then recently he took up the toque at Cochon Volant, a French brasserie. There are several delicious steaks on the menu: steak frites were perfect: the traditional beef, done to a perfect medium rare, with herbed fries, that pairs perfectly with a beautifully soft 2004 St. Emilion, a classic combination. The menu at Cochon Volant presents the standards you know and love, like the steak, mussels, and roast chicken. Sometimes you don't go out to eat to be challenged. You go out to enjoy traditional food done well, and that's what you'll find at Cochon Volant.
