The Des Moines outpost is a hot spot for lunch, dinner and after-work festivities. The appetizer menu is loaded with lots of options for sharing, from Italian sausage-stuffed mushrooms to sausage bread, which is stuffed with sausage, peppers, onion, mozzarella and Colby cheese and served with marinara sauce.

Many of the pasta dishes are great for sharing as well. Johnny's boasts a host of signature and classic pastas -- all made in-house -- that arrive with the family-style house salad. Choose from the likes of meat lasagna, chicken prosciutto in parmesan cream sauce with linguine, and seafood pasta pomodoro (shrimp, mussels, scallop, garlic, spinach, portabella mushrooms, olive oil and aromatic tomato broth with fettuccine).

All steaks at Johnny's are hand selected and aged a minimum of 28 days. Many are signature styled, such as Johnny's steak Deburgo (beef tenderloin medallions, roasted garlic, basil, oregano, cream sauce), drunken steak (nine-ounce top sirloin marinated in beer, roasted garlic and herbs accompanied with Johnny’s drunken sauce), and filet and seafood Rockefeller (lobster shell stuffed with shrimp, scallops and lobster served alongside beef tenderloin medallions with gorgonzola cream sauce).
