Uncle Jack's Meat House - Duluth
Thirty minutes outside of Atlanta is Uncle Jack's Meat House, in Duluth. It's the first outpost for this particular brand, whose original can be found in Astoria, New York. The New York-based restaurant group is also behind Uncle Jack’s Steakhouse, Uncle Jack’s Steak Sandwich Shoppe and Uncle Jack’s Shack Organic Eatery.
Uncle Jack’s Meat House Duluth Georgia is the group's newest brand, and it's tailored to contemporary tastes in natural, organic and sustainable ingredients. Owner Willie Degel is also host of “Restaurant Stakeout” on Food Network.
Uncle Jack's pays homage to a 1900s meat warehouse with an affordable, farm-to-table menu. Choices range from casual bites like sandwiches and burger to USDA prime steaks and chops.
Those opting for burgers may choose from a selection of signature offerings. There's the Ooey Gooey Mooey Burger topped with onion jam, maple pepper bacon, buttermilk blue cheese fondue and a secret sauce. There's also truffle mushroom swiss, which is dressed up with Gruyere cheese mornay, truffled mushrooms garlic and a thyme-spiced jumbo onion ring.
Sandwich choices are equally popular, with the country chicken biscuit sandwich, stacked Reuben and brick pressed Cubano some of the most recommended.
Yet, still steak is the ultimate meat option at Uncle Jack's. Choose from an all-natural, center-cut filet (eight ounces or 12 ounces) to the "Fred Flintstone" that's actually a 35-day dry-aged rib chop. It's 20 ounces. There's also a weekly butcher's cut.
Finally, there are daily specials at the restaurant. Order ribs on Monday, fried chicken on Tuesday, fish and chips every Friday, and a low country boil on Saturdays.
