My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Morton's last night.
First of all, when I made the reservation, I was asked what the occasion was... and I indicated "anniversary". There was no mention of it whatsoever by the host or our waiter. I recall a previous anniversary, we went to a different high-end steakhouse and they had the table very nicely decorated and presented us with a very nice "Hallmark" style card. Additionally, the host, waiter, and manager also congratulated us. That was a very nice gesture and is what one would expect from a high-end "$$$$" steakhouse. This was not such a big deal to us, as we did not need to be congratulated or made feel special, but I am mentioning it for the purpose of explaining all details of our experience. Once seated, we had to wait extensively for our waiter to greet us. My wife asked for water with lemon, and I ordered a beer. The lemons took about 10 minutes to arrive, and the beer was warm. The food also took very long to arrive. We didn't expect to have these issues on a Wednesday night, at a restaurant of such "high caliber"... Friday-Sunday it is understandable. I would have given one star, but the food was really good, so they deserve some credit for that.
