The Prime Rib

The Prime Rib - Washington

The original Prime Rib restaurant opened in Baltimore in 1965, with outposts opening in Washington, D.C. in 1976 and Philadelphia in 1997. Its claim to fame is its throwback setting of elegant supper clubs of 1940s Manhattan, and it was designed by brothers Buzz and Nick BeLer.

While the names of the players have changed, not much else has been disturbed in this classic setting: from the tuxedoed waitstaff to nightly live music. Neither has The Prime Rib's menu of prime steaks, fresh seafood and thick chops. It's even garnered all sorts of accolades from media, including “Best Steak” from Philadelphia magazine, one of the "Top Five Romantic Restaurants in the U.S." from Food & Wine and coverage from the Food Network.

Highlights on the menu include the signature roast prime rib, a double-cut pork chop and dry-aged USDA prime New York strip.
