Elway's Vail Vail steakhouse

Came here after our reservations elsewhere fell through, so we ate in the bar area because it was busier than normal for a Tuesday evening. The staff was gracious--especially Lindsey who took excellent care of us. Food was very good, too. After a less than stellar visit to the Chophouse last week, this was such a welcome upgrade. Thanks, Elway's =)

My wife and I were very excited to go to Elway's in Vail last weekend. Since it was located inside the Lodge hotel we are a little disappointed about the surroundings chipped paint in the elevator, no one even manning the front desk to ask where Elway's was located since it was our first time there, etc. If you have an upscale restaurant it should be an upscale location with everything around it upscale however we came for the food and the dining experience, not the surroundings. We started with a wedge salad which was a very big portion for us to split, very fresh ingredients. The ribeye I ordered did not disappoint. Was cooked perfectly in season perfectly and I really enjoyed it. However my wife ordered the filet and told them medium and it came out raw in the middle. This can happen we understand but you would think since they do steak all the time they would know. We ordered mashed potatoes on the side and that came out warm at best. A bit disappointed that everything was not five star as we expected for Elway's and for the price we were paying. I would go back and give it another chance, since all restaurants have an off night, however I cannot give it five stars on this rating.

This may be the worst steakhouse of this caliber that I've been to. The meat quality wasn't that good. Service was terrible (who has to ask for a fork when they get steak delivered to their table?) This place is obviously still running off the Elway name and this would honestly be a 1 star review if I didn't just hear a church sermon about mercy. I'm not saying this to be vindictive as I'm sure that they are doing the best they can but sometimes your output isn't good enough based on the competition. Go somewhere else.

The steak! Omg! This was the best ribeye I've ever had! The flavor was the best ever! All the food was great and the staff and drinks even better!

As far the best meal I had this winter! The stake was AMAZING! Big size so is perfect to share 😉 We had it with some broccoli and crispy fries. Don’t miss the bread, is very good too. and the attention… 💯 points!
