Epic Steak - San Francisco
Spectacular, panoramic views of the Bay, Bay Bridge, Treasure Island and the San Francisco skyline are only one of the perks of dining at this well-regarded steakhouse located on the city's scenic waterfront. Another, of course, is the food, which matches perfectly with decor that's as beautiful inside as what guests see on the outside.
Epic Steak's interior is posh and modern with a few whimsical, turn-of-the-century accents mixed in such as specially crafted pipes and a wheel. Steel-framed windows and a large metal fireplace round out the rustic, industrial feel of the space.
As far as cuisine, its emphasis is sustainably sourced meat and seafood, along with organically grown produce. The menu features modern interpretations of traditional steakhouse favorites, drawing inspiration from different preparations of meat from around the world.
Epic's expanded selection of prime steaks includes a 28-ounce, dry-aged cote de boeuf (beef for two) and the “epic meal for two,” featuring a 32-ounce Tomahawk ribsteak and two-pound Maine lobster. Speaking of seafood, additional shellfish offerings include a selection of fresh oysters, American black caviar and a take on the classic shrimp cocktail offered to guests two ways (oven roasted with garlic, chilies and Meyer lemon or chilled with lemon and cocktail sauce).
For those looking to wind down after work, Epic's happy hour happens 2:30-6:30pm Monday through Friday. That's when guests may take advantage of many alcoholic drink specials, plus the "3 B's special" of a burger, brownie and beer for $20.
