Belden Taverna - San Francisco
Positioning itself as more of a modern steakhouse, Belden Taverna offers dining accommodations on two levels. There's also a spacious bar and parlor for those who'd prefer to dine with a view of the busy street action.
As far as the menu, a great place to start is with freshly shucked oysters and then on to a number of options to share with the table. Notable highlights include chef-driven dishes like lobster "escargot" with garlic and parsley butter; day boat scallops with wild mushrooms, asparagus and lobster sauce; and crispy pork belly with grilled asparagus, frisee, crispy soft boiled egg and sabayon.
Diners may order USDA prime beef steaks on or off the bone, and they're served with a choice of bearnaise, peppercorn or red wine sauces. For those who cannot make up their minds, the trio of beef may be a good call. That is comprised of three cuts (filet mignon, short rib, bone marrow), three styles and three sauces. Those looking for deals should head here for happy hour. Every 4-6pm Monday through Friday, guests may order Australian lobster tacos, duck confit quesadillas, Kobe burger sliders and more.
