AR Valentien - San Diego
One of two restaurants at The Lodge Torrey Pines Resort, AR Valentien serves as the hotel property's fine-dining establishment. It's named in honor of Albert R. Valentien, who was the chief decorator of the renowned Rookwood Pottery in Ohio for more than 20 years before moving to San Diego in 1908. His botanical watercolors, renowned for their realism, are perhaps the finest representations of California flora, and they are displayed throughout the restaurant.
AR Valentien's menu draws inspiration from the top local provisions available each season and changes regularly, depending on produce offered at local farmers markets and from small growers, ranchers and fishermen. In addition to prime New York strip, the menu includes entrees such as braised veal osso bucco and free-range roast chicken. There are also tasting menus available.
