J&G Steakhouse - Scottsdale
Diners at J&G Steakhouse are treated to spectacular views of the foothills of Camelback Mountain. It's a view everyone gets to enjoy because the restaurant's design includes floor-to-ceiling windows, plus a luxurious patio.
Read MoreThe patio also includes a fire pit for those chillier evenings, and the pit illuminates the night for a romantic night out. Inside, the restaurant is designed in modern Southwestern style, from contemporary chandeliers and muted colors to authentic stone-cut walls.
French native Jacques Qualin is over the menu, and he's served as executive chef since the restaurant's inception, in 2009. His menu strays a bit from classic steakhouse fare and indulges in bold Asian flavors.
For starters, for example, you'll find a Peekytoe crab cake, plus sweet-and-sour pork belly and blistered shishito peppers dressed in a soy miso glaze. Entrees beyond steak range from roasted Maine lobster with oregano and chili to parmesan-crusted chicken.
A chef of this caliber, of course, features a tasting menu. Qualin's "tour of signature dishes" consists of six dishes, and it's seasonal and showcases local ingredients. Highlights include the warm chocolate cake and Maine lobster entree.
