Durant's - Phoenix
Jack Durant's steakhouse opened in 1950, and almost immediately it became legendary. The owner was quite the character, so much, that years later, his colorful life was turned into a movie starring Tom Sizemore in 2016.

Another important, and unconventional, detail was that the preferred entrance is through the kitchen. Local business leaders, politicians and others in the know continue to practice this routine today.
The food here is hearty, filling, classic steakhouse fare. There's slow-roasted prime rib (get it eight, 12 or 16 ounces). Of course, you'll find steaks in a variety of cuts, from 12-ounce sirloin to a 22-ounce bone-in rib-eye. You'll also find traditional Italian fare, including chicken piccata, chicken marsala and shrimp scampi with fettuccine.
