Old Homestead Steakhouse - Atlantic City
The iconic steakhouse known as Old Homestead--which has been around since 1868--opened its first outpost in the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. Brothers Marc and Greg Sherry, whose family has been associated with the original location for decades, let Atlantic City get a taste of its fine cuts and legendary history. Complemented by sultry décor, dark wood and burgundy leather booths, Old Homestead's urban dining room and bar feels like a familiar favorite.
It also cranks out prime aged USDA Texas-size slabs of beef. For example, Old Homestead specializes in sirloin, porterhouse or filet mignon, but also non-steak dishes like Colorado rack of lamb, grilled chicken and crabmeat-stuffed shrimp.
The signature dish is the Gotham rib steak that's a whopping 34 ounces. The delicacy doesn't come with sides, but the menu offers a number of appropriate accompaniments such as roasted mushrooms, a truffle mac 'n' cheese, and bacon creamed spinach.
There are nightly shows happening at the Borgata--from weekly burlesque performances to sets by the likes of actors Al Pacino and Kevin James--so Old Homestead is an ideal dining indulgence beforehand.
